Our Proposal

April 16th, 2016 | Mount Vernon, Washington

David planned a surprise trip for Sofia to go to Seattle, a city that they had both always wanted to go to. The Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon, that only takes place in April, was the main attraction. On their first day in Seattle, David and Sofia explored the city, having a blast trying food all over the city and soaking up the unexpected sunshine. On the second day, David woke Sofia up with a coffee and a card saying, “Get ready because we’re going on a scavenger hunt today!”

David had the day and details perfectly planned, he would give Sofia 7 clues throughout the day to represent the 7 years they had been dating. From the Space Needle to brunch, they ran all over the city and while Sofia was taking in the beauty, David was a nervous wreck! Although he told her they were going back to the hotel to change for high tea, he had other plans. They would be driving to Mount Vernon for the two final clues which would lead them to an orchard then to their final destination, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

He had been talking to a photographer for months to execute the perfect proposal. When we arrived, she (unknowingly to Sofia) followed them in taking photographs along the way. As soon as they were walking up to the tulips, David grabbed Sofia’s hand and pulled her into one of the rows. After the sweetest speech and what seemed like two seconds, David was down on one knee with her dream ring! Sofia said yes about a million times and they kissed and hugged while the small crowd across the way were cheering.

They took photos in the tulips then went to a small town fifteen minutes away to get another beautiful backdrop. They celebrated their engagement at Canlis for the perfect ending to the perfect day. The proposal was beyond amazing – it was more than Sofia could have ever imagined!
